This is another of our favorite place in West LA we used to go (and we go less often now since we are too busy to go to ramen places). As many other of our favorite places, we always order the same things. Pan fried noodle with black petter sauce and eggplant and beef.

Since I was just myself this time, I order just pan fried noodle with black pepper sauce.

I used to go this place on weekends but we became too busy to visit other ramen places these days. So it has been more than a year since last visit. My favorite was Kakiage don set (rice ball with tempura and a noodle, which I usually order zaru soba (cold noodle)).

But I found Kakiage-don set is no longer on the menu and was disappointed.

So I had this Soboro-don set Soboro is a minced chicken meat cooked with soy sauce, etc. and sweet. You can choose udon (hot or cold), soba (hot or cold) or zaru soba (cold). My choice always is zaru soba. Good soba.

This is not a regular menu item (this weekend only). Tantanmen is spicy and reasonably good. Tastes a bit like the one at Chim-ma-ya.
